California Is Broken. I’ve Lived It. I’ll Fix It.

A Platform Built on Public Safety, Affordability, and Prosperity — For Every Family in CA-14

By Wendy Huang | Candidate, California’s 14th Congressional District

Washington DC Has Failed You. Sacramento Has Failed You. Democratic and Republican insiders failed us. It’s Time for Someone Who Won’t.

I came to America from Taiwan with nothing but a dream and a willingness to work for it.

I built a career in Silicon Valley. I raised a family. I became an American citizen and registered as a Republican because I believe in the founding promise of this country: that your effort, your ingenuity, and your character — not your connections — determine how far you can go.

And then I watched that promise get dismantled.

I watched career politicians — Democrats and Republicans alike — trade your safety for political convenience, your paycheck for donor favors, and your children’s future for the next election cycle. I watched the Bay Area, one of the wealthiest and most innovative regions on earth, become a place where families can’t afford rent, parents fear for their kids walking to school, and small business owners are taxed and regulated into extinction.

I didn’t run for office because it was easy. I ran because someone had to tell the truth.

When I got duly elected by the voters of Alameda County to be their Central Committee member for our Alameda GOP, I spoke truth to powerful political insiders and continue to do so today. The ongoing court battle proves I am about action, and not words and broken promises.

My platform is three words: Public Safety. Affordability. Prosperity.

Not talking points. A contract.

Here Is What Is Actually Happening to you and me in our 14th Congressional District— And Why It Doesn’t Have to Be This Way

PUBLIC SAFETY: The First Responsibility of Government — And the First Thing It Abandoned

Government’s most basic duty is to keep you safe. In CA-14, that duty has been abandoned.

Soft-on-crime policies backed by progressive politicians have produced predictable results: retail theft normalized, fentanyl flooding our streets, and communities where law-abiding residents feel less safe than the criminals preying on them. The defund-the-police movement didn’t make our neighborhoods safer — it made them more dangerous — and the politicians who championed it have never once been held accountable.

As a proud endorsee of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, Moms for Liberty, and others, as well as a candidate endorsed by organizations committed to law-abiding citizens’ rights, I will go to Washington and fight to:

  • Fully fund law enforcement and end the federal funding incentives that reward sanctuary policies over public safety
  • Prioritize the deportation of violent criminals — not as a talking point, but as a legal and moral mandate
  • Crack down on fentanyl trafficking at the border and through every supply chain entering our communities
  • Restore consequences so that crime is no longer a low-risk enterprise in California

The safety of your family is not a partisan issue. It is the non-negotiable foundation of everything else on this list.

IMMIGRATION: A Reagan Republican’s Honest Answer

Let me be direct, because voters deserve directness.

I am an immigrant. I came here legally, navigated the system, and built my life by its rules. I believe in legal immigration with my whole heart — it is one of America’s greatest competitive advantages.

I also believe in enforcing the law.

My position is not complicated:

  • Violent criminals with no legal status must be deported. Full stop. No exceptions, no political calculations.
  • Non-violent, long-term undocumented residents who have built lives, paid taxes, and have no criminal record deserve a structured legal pathway — not amnesty, not open borders, but a humane and rule-of-law-based resolution. Ronald Reagan understood this. I do too.
  • The border must be secured with modern technology, adequate personnel, and the political will that Washington has refused to provide for decades.
  • Asylum must mean something. Fraud undermines the entire system and insults every person who came here legally.

Politicians on both sides have used immigration as a fundraising wedge for 40 years. I am running to solve it — because a broken immigration system is a public safety issue, a labor market issue, and a national security issue all at once.

HEALTHCARE: Affordability Without Destroying What Works

California families are being crushed by healthcare costs, and Washington’s answer has been to make the system more bureaucratic, more expensive, and less accountable.

As a tech executive, I understand systems. And I can tell you that the American healthcare system is not failing because of too little government — it is failing because of too little transparency, competition, and accountability.

My healthcare platform:

  • Price transparency, mandatory and enforced — patients deserve to know what they will pay before they receive care, full stop
  • Expand health savings accounts and give families more control over their own healthcare dollars
  • Lower prescription drug costs by enabling interstate competition and reforming patent abuse by pharmaceutical companies — without dismantling the innovation ecosystem that produces the world’s best treatments
  • Protect Medicare and Social Security — these are not entitlements, they are earned benefits that American workers paid into their entire lives
  • Support mental health parity — especially for veterans, first responders, and young people navigating a post-COVID world
  • Oppose one-size-fits-all federal mandates that remove patient and physician autonomy
  • Stop all construction on our high-speed rail theft, recover the billions of dollars stolen and reallocate the money to ensure our Medi-Cal and CalFresh programs are fully funded immediately for our Californians.

I am not here to blow up healthcare. I am here to fix it the way you fix any broken system: with data, accountability, and competition.

JOBS & THE ECONOMY: Prosperity Is Not a Luxury — It’s a Policy Choice

California has the fifth-largest economy in the world. It also has the highest poverty rate of any state when cost of living is factored in. That is not a coincidence — it is the direct result of policies that strangle small businesses, tax productivity, and chase employers out of the state.

The tech industry I spent my career in is a model of what California can do when government gets out of the way and lets innovators build. My economic platform:

  • Cut the regulatory burden on small businesses, the engine of CA-14’s local economy
  • Oppose federal tax increases that punish work, savings, and investment
  • Invest in workforce development — trade schools, community college partnerships, and apprenticeship programs that train workers for the jobs that actually exist
  • Protect American jobs from unfair trade practices — I understand global supply chains and I will not allow American workers to subsidize Chinese industrial policy
  • Lead on Artificial Intelligence policy — as a tech CEO, I am uniquely positioned to write AI regulation that protects workers and consumers without destroying the American innovation advantage. We need guardrails, not a government takeover.

Prosperity is not trickle-down theory. It is what happens when entrepreneurs are free to build, workers are free to earn, and government is forced to live within its means.

EDUCATION: The Future of CA-14 Is in Its Classrooms — And They Are Failing Our Kids

I am a mother. I am endorsed by Moms for Liberty. And I am furious. We have school administrators making more salary than our Lt. Governor or Attorney General!

California spends more per pupil than almost any state in the nation — and produces academic outcomes that should embarrass every elected official who has been in office for the past two decades. Our kids are falling behind in reading and math. Discipline has collapsed. And when parents try to be involved, they are told to sit down.

My education platform:

  • Parents’ rights are non-negotiable — parents have the right to know what is being taught to their children and the right to be involved in curriculum decisions
  • School choice and education savings accounts — every child in CA-14 deserves access to the school that works best for them, regardless of zip code
  • Back to basics — literacy, numeracy, civics, and critical thinking must be the core of every K-12 curriculum
  • Support teachers by removing the administrative bloat and political agendas that have demoralized the profession
  • Community college and vocational pathways fully funded and destigmatized — a four-year degree is one path, not the only path

Children get one childhood. One shot at a foundational education. We will not waste it.

COST OF LIVING & HOUSING: The Middle Class Is Being Priced Out of the Place It Built

The Bay Area housing crisis is not a natural disaster. It is a policy disaster.

Excessive zoning restrictions, environmental review abuse, permitting delays, and secret backroom deals backed by politically connected out of state developers have combined to make housing in CA-14 unaffordable for the teachers, nurses, firefighters, and working families who make this community function.

My approach:

  • Reform the federal permitting and environmental review process to allow housing to be built faster without gutting real environmental protections
  • Oppose rent control mandates that reduce housing supply and discourage investment in new construction
  • Target federal housing funds toward building homes, not bureaucracy
  • Address utility costs by opposing the reckless green energy mandates that have made California electricity among the most expensive in the nation — affordability and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive, but they require honest policy tradeoffs
  • End the inflation-by-spending cycle in Washington — every dollar of deficit spending is a hidden tax on every family in CA-14

You should be able to raise your family in the community you love. That is not a radical demand. It is what a functioning government is supposed to deliver. Responsible renewable energy like wind, solar, and geothermal work when done honestly and above board.

TRANSPORTATION: Getting to Work Shouldn’t Cost Half a Paycheck

The commutes in CA-14 are a daily tax on working families. Gas prices, bridge tolls, and a public transit system that doesn’t serve most of the district’s actual geography are not inconveniences — they are economic burdens that compound every other cost of living pressure.

My transportation priorities:

  • Oppose federal fuel tax increases that disproportionately burden working-class commuters
  • Demand accountability for California’s high-speed rail debacle — billions spent, no train, no accountability. That ends.
  • Support smart infrastructure investment — roads, bridges, and transit that are built on time, on budget, and with transparent oversight
  • Leverage technology to reduce congestion and improve freight logistics — areas where my tech background gives CA-14 a direct advantage in federal negotiations

ENVIRONMENT: Protecting California Without Punishing Californians

I grew up near the Pacific. I raised my children near the Bay. I love this land, and I will protect it.

But I will not pretend that the extreme energy policies coming out of Sacramento are environmentalism. They are economic punishment dressed in green. California families are paying the highest electricity rates in the continental United States while our grid becomes less reliable every summer.

My environmental platform:

  • All-of-the-above energy policy — natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind, and emerging technologies. Reliability and affordability are non-negotiable
  • Real environmental protection focused on air quality, water quality, wildfire prevention, and coastal preservation — not performative virtue signaling
  • Federal wildfire management reform — healthy forests require active management, and the failure to manage federal lands has cost California communities billions of dollars and thousands of lives
  • Oppose energy policies that export our emissions to countries with no environmental standards — offshoring production does not help the planet

Imagine a CA-14 Where Government Actually Works

Imagine waking up in a community where:

  • Your children walk to school safely
  • You can afford the rent without a second job
  • Your small business isn’t drowning in fees and forms
  • The politicians who represent you are afraid of you, not their donors
  • AI is being governed by people who actually understand it
  • An immigrant who earned her place is making decisions in Congress that reflect your values — not the values of the party machine

That is not a fantasy. That is a policy choice. And every single item on this platform can be achieved by a representative who is not owned by anyone.

I am not owned by anyone.

I am endorsed by the Republican Hispanic national Assembly, Moms for Liberty, the CRPA, and Reform California because I earned those endorsements by telling the truth. I am running against the culture of political protection that both parties have used to insulate themselves from accountability — and I am running to win.

What You Can Do Right Now

The political machine is counting on you to stay home. To feel like your vote doesn’t matter. To decide that nothing ever changes.

Prove them wrong.

Here is what accountability looks like in practice:

  1. Read the record. Every politician who has failed CA-14 has a public record. Demand they answer for it — Democrat or Republican.
  2. Talk to your neighbors. The issues on this platform are not partisan — they are practical. Share this post.
  3. Follow the campaign at [wendyhuangforcongress.com] and sign up for updates.
  4. Donate if you can. Grassroots campaigns are funded by people, not PACs.
  5. Vote.
